Public Representation committee on Constitutional Reforms conducted hearing at Colombo office .They started it at Colombo district. NAFSO net work leaders from Jaffna,Mannar,Trincomalee,Ampara,Puttlam,Gampaha,Galle,Kaluthra,Kurunagala and Colombo  also joint that occasion.Each district hand over their suggestions for the new constitution.

Rve Fathers of Negombo Dinary organised education program on Port city project at Thammita Kadinal Kure hall on  12 of January  2016.
More than 100 fishermen ,women,Civil society leaders and Rve fathers participated for the program. Government athurities and EIA report consultators joint for the education process.Most of the fishermen against their presentation. So their demand was to stop the port city.

Tell the truth of impact of the port city

Organisation of against port city conducted Mach from CSR centre to department of costal construction. More tham 250 fisher people,Civil societies and Religious participated that campaign. Then they handed over 116 personal complains;13 organisations complaints to the Director General of Costal conservation.

Fisher people, Civil societies,citizens from coastal belt and religious got  together at CSR Center ON 06 OF January  against the port city.They were educated  on EIA report. Then they plan to hand over the complains to department of coastal construction.

Trincomalee Small Scale Fishermen demand enforce the law against destructive fishing

Thousands of Trincomalee small scale fishers came to street yesterday demanding law enforcement against destructive fishing gears. They have been struggling to pressurise the authorities to take legal action againat destructive fishing.
The Organization for protection of marine resources organized the protest at Clock tower in Trincomalee town.
Ananda Peiris, the coordinator of  NAFSO lead the protest and said, "We requested from all the authorities to enforce the law. No one listen to us. The marine  resources are depleting rapidly and we lose our income drastically and our children starving."
The protestors marched from Vijithapura cooperative society upto Clock Tower first. After half an hour protest at clock tower the team moved to the District Secretary's office and handed over a petetion to the district secretary.
Protestors moved then to the Eastern province provincial council.  The leaders had decided to continue the fight until their basic demands will be met.
Raajan, the Praja Abilasha coordinator told at the meeting "when people's voice not heard by the authorities, the political leadership should engaged. Unless, people have proved their power both at Presidential and General election to send them home."


STOP PORT CITY

Present government promised to stop the Port city project if they come to power but now they are planning to continue the project .So we had education programs in Munnakkara and Seththappaduwa in Negombo DS Division .Janawabodaya ,NAFSO and Sremabimani team organized these work shop.
