Food Sovereignty campaign in 2015

People's Caravan for Food Sovereignty - 2015 took place from 01th to 16th October 2015 in different regions in country covering 9 provinces.

The farmers, fisher folks, labors, women, consumers, academics, religious leaders, scholars and also the individuals and their organizations  conducted and participated in the events organized such as meetings, discussions, seminars, protests, people's tribunals etc. to discuss, highlight and emphasis the need to protect and ensure of the rights of the people to natural resources such as land, water and seeds that is directly affecting the food sovereignty of the people if not they are protected.
On the World Food Day, 16th October 2015, the people's proposals developed handed over to the policy makers at a seminar  in Colombo.

As NAFSO  network we conducted events in —  Batticaloa-08 of October,Trincomalee and Ampara  12^th of October,Mannar and Matara 13 of October,Galle and Negombo 14^th  of October, Puttlam  Kaluthara and Vauniya  15^th  of October and National program at Colombo on 16 th of October. For these all program More than 700 members of NAFSO network participated   ).

We have conducted education  program at Panama Temple on 05 of October. More than 200 people participated for the program. Their main demand is to get back their land So they were awareness on present situation and the progress of the campaign.

Stop violence against children and women

Protest is conducting at Negombo town to police station and DS office on world children day.They hand over the petition to the OIC and Negombo DS .This protest organised by Sri Vimikthi Fisjer women organisation. In the same time there are many other civil society organizations support them.

World children day protest and Marches  conducted from Santhjayasuriya ground to DS office.They said their were more than 250 people joint that protest.They distributed leaflets and Finally hand over the petition to the DS Matara.Main demands  of the protest was to stop women and child abuses,Protect the Low and order,Stop violence against women .
