International women day Celebration at Negombo

International women day Celebration was conducted Sri Vimukthi Fisher women organization in Negombo on 28 th of March in front of the Negombo bus stand .Women from Jaffna ,Mannar .Trincomalee,Ampara,Batticoaloa,Polonnaruwa,Kurunagala,Karuwalagaswerwa,Puttilam ,Matara and Negombo participated this event.Ministry of Joshop Mical and UNP negombo organizer Roise Vijitha and Civil organisations also joint for the collaboration.In the same time we conducted the No land and No Life campaign More than 300 people participated .In this celebrations they organized photo exhibition,Art competition,post card campaign on women issues and street drama.

Capacity building on VGGT and VGSSF

capacity building training on VGGT and VGSSF at Polonnaruwa Miridiya organizations on 18 th of March.Sr.Malian, Manoje Silva, Saman Sanjiva and Priyankara Costa facilitated that program. 38 members participated from five villages.

Welcome to Modi! Help to find a solution to our issues

Hon. Narendra Modi, PM, India here in SL for an official visited on 13 of March 2015 , the second day of his visit Modi visited in Jaffna and received warm but a "heated" welcome from the war affected communities in the northern province. Around 100-200 people gathered in Jaffna town representatives from Mannar, Trincomalee and Vavunia urged from Modi to mediate on their issues.
The main areas of issues raised are as followings;
! Mediate to find a solution to ethnic issue,
! Resettle the IDPs in their own lands,
! Assist to find amicable solution to Indian trawler issue,
! Need immediate attention to rectify the issues emerged in Indian housing schemes,
! We need our lands grabbed for Sampur highly industrial zone in Sampur,

! We are still waiting to know what has happened to our beloved ones, and their where abouts,

The people gathered at Jaffna are very seriously demanded a solution for Indian trawler issues immediately. 

These courageous men and women are not against Indian Prime Minister. But they want to highlight their issues which will not reflect at the high level diplomatic tables they think.
